About the Course
A foundational course exploring the world of character design— from Pokemon and Mario, to Bugs Bunny and Sonic the Hedgehog. Students will discover exactly what makes their favorite video game characters so appealing, and use that knowledge to create their own! We will use a combination of pen-and-paper and digital art.

Kat Johnson
Hello! I am Kat Johnson and a Maryville University Alumni with a BFA in Interactive Design/Game Development.
I have worked with Graphite Labs and ATARI on multiple titles, including the critically acclaimed Mr Run and Jump and QOMP2. I am a strong advocate for lifelong learning, and hope to share my love of games with my students.
