About the Course

A foundational game-design course focusing on the creation of environment-based puzzles common in Role Playing Games, using basic Dungeons and Dragons rules for quick-and-easy experimentation. Students will learn the ins and outs of creating fun and innovative puzzles they can use in their own tabletop games. This class will use a combination of pen-and-paper and digital design with the free online program Roll20.

Hello! I am Kat Johnson and a Maryville University Alumni with a BFA in Interactive Design/Game Development.

I have worked with Graphite Labs and ATARI on multiple titles, including the critically acclaimed Mr Run and Jump and QOMP2. I am a strong advocate for lifelong learning, and hope to share my love of games with my students.
